About Camping Belle Vue
Tents, campervans, caravans, motorhomes, dogs (on leads) – yes.
Oodles of things to do, from riding the Velo Rail (pedal karts) on disused railway tracks, to horse-riding, and hot air ballooning (00 33 6 83 43 36 01), which will set you back around €200, but is unforgettable. You might want to head for the river and hire a kayak. In July and August the tourist office organises tours to foie gras and walnut farms. Finally the prehistoric paintings of Lascaux are nearby (a short trip down D704).
Food & Drink
The cuisine onsite is typically French; Cal whips up dishes like Provençal beef casserole and mains are just €10. The onsite shop sells drinks and ice creams. The Auberge du Parc in Hautefort (00 33 5 53 50 88 98) has affordable French fare (mains €13), while Le Troubador is more upmarket, with specialities such as wild boar. A 2-course meal starts at €22.
Camping Belle Vue is located at La Contie, nr Hautefort, 24390 Boisseuilh, Dordogne, France
East of Périgueux, pick up D5 through Cubjac and Tourtoirac to St-Agnan; head south on D71, keeping an eye out for signs to Hautefort. In the village square (opposite the Tourist Office) take the D72 for Boisseuilh, continue straight on crossing 3 bridges and, after that, take the left fork in the road; Belle Vue is 500 metres along on the right.
