This Cabin by the Lake is set in the most tranquil of settings and the deafening sound of pure silence - a true getaway from the modern world!
The superbly furnished cabin is set above the lake to which the double doors look out upon, and if you wish you can sit out on the terrace and take in the views of the surrounding area.
It has a comfortable double bed with a duvet provided and towels to use to your leisure. The cabin does not have a shower but does have the basic kitchen utensils such as a gas stove (2 Rings, toaster and grill) and a gas canister, also crockery and cutlery is provided.
The Cabin does not have any WIFI, but why would you need it? Take some board games and a pack of cards instead and have a proper break from the outside world.
No electricity runs through the cabin but it is powered by solar panel lighting which gives you 4 hours of consistent light. You have a sheltered toilet positioned next to your cabin and their are basic washing facilities and a mirror in the hut. You can wash your dishes the old fashioned way with the supplied water which will be given to you when you arrive.
Even though your snuggled away in the countryside you can venture from your cabin to nearby Ironbridge or Much Wenlock , or if you wish, explore much more of the scenic Shropshire.
Unfortunately no pets are allowed and if you wish to purchase a cot & high chair they are available on a first come first served basis.

The most notable local attraction is the eponymous Ironbridge, around 4 miles from the farm, though nearer 2 miles if you ask Derek for directions along the farm footpaths. This vast cast-iron construction has been wowing visitors since 1779. Visit the Museum of the Gorge (01952 433424) for an insight into this iconic region. Plan your visit for September to get involved in the free Ironbridge World Heritage Festival. The area boasts several stately homes and historical buildings including Attingham Park (01743 708123), Buildwas Abbey (0870 333 1181) and Sunnycroft (01952 242884). Charming county town Shrewsbury is also just 10 minutes away while foodie mecca Ludlow is also just down the road.

Food & Drink

The Kynnersley Arms (01952 510233) in Leighton serves up a decent rage of beers and reasonably-priced pub grub. The nearby Huntsman of Little Wenlock (01952 503300) is just 20 minutes walk away. It boasts an ever-changing selection of local ales, while the restaurant does a mean Sunday roast with the finest locally-sourced meat. For guyrope gourmands, the Ludlow Food Festival takes place every September and features over 160 producers and Michelin chefs.

Getting There

From the South: Leaving the M54 at junction 6, take the A5223 towards Ironbridge and Much Wenlock. At Jiggers Roundabout, take the A4169 Ironbridge By-Pass and continue straight on the bottom of the hill onto the B4380 towards Buildwas and Leighton. On entering the village of Leighton take the first turning on the right into Kynnersley Lane. Follow this road for approximately half a mile before turning right at the T junction. Morrells Wood Farm is then three quarters of a mile ahead and signposted (Morrells Wood Farm).

From the North: Leave the A5 at Emstrey Island taking the B4380 towards Ironbridge. Follow this road through Atcham and take the next turning right (B4380) Towards Ironbridge. Stay on this road for about 3 miles before entering the village of Leighton. After passing The Kynnersley Arms pub take the next left turn into Kynnersley Lane – then follow the directions as above.

The number 96 bus passes through Leighton frequently each day from Shrewsbury to Wolverhampton, though from the village its still a fairly long walk. The nearest train station is Wellington, approximately 6 miles away but both Shrewsbury and Telford also have stations.
