Talton Lodge Glamping
UK England West Midlands Warwickshire Shipston-on-Stour
Here’s a place to cocoon your family and friends in an idyllic glamping world – perfect for exclusive hire for the weekend. And it’s a kids’ (big and small) Utopia: a tempting combination of luxurious yurts, a North American inspired tipi, an orchard wagon and a fabulously unique tree house-boat – all enclosed in a cosy Victorian walled garden, as well as an converted 18th century barn.
Talton Lodge has the ultimate secret garden that you can just disappear into. When the latched wooden gate is opened you’ll be sure to gasp with excitement at the sight in front of you - it’s rather like the beginning of a theme park advert, but without the schmaltz. The campsite (or, more appropriately, 'glampsite', as it's not a bring-your-own-tent place) is in a Victorian red-brick walled garden, with everything you’d expect – veggie patches, raspberry bushes, chicken coops, an orchard – all topped off with a babbling brook.
As mentioned, you’ll find a colourful array of accommodations, and a pavilion with a full licensed bar, surrounded by all the trappings of self-sufficiency, from soft fruit to hand-reared heavenly hog. All accommodation has a wood burning stove, proper beds and linen. Although there's plenty going on here, each abode has been astutely positioned so guests within your group can enjoy a sense of seclusion.
One thing's for sure, you wont get bored here. Talton Lodge hosts a hatful of activities, from treasure hunts to sausage making, and beauty therapy to pottery classes. Be sure to visit their website for all the latest bespoke actiivtes and bushcraft survival courses.
The outdoors here is paradise; kids can run in and out of trees and tents, and there are a further 20 acres surrounding this.Throw in Talton’s owner Olivia,(who trained as a pastry chef under Gary Rhodes) who dishes up delicious three-course dinners with advance notice – you’d be mad not to take advantage of her cooking during your stay – and you won’t be able to help feeling completely relaxed at this heavenly place.
Dogs can no longer be accommodated, but there are kennels 5 minutes away in Alderminster if you would like your pet to be on holiday nearby.
