Set in the bucolic heart of Wales,Teifi Meadows is the kind of campsite where you go to sleep to the sound of owls hooting in the trees and wake up to the chirrup of songbirds. The site is made up of one large meadow surrounded by woodland and hedgerows and a small stream, with the resident chickens wandering around – when they’re not providing your breakfast eggs.
It’s a relaxed and welcoming place, the kind of site where families get to know the owners – Julian and Jane Bransden – as personal friends, and meet fellow campers around the site’s firepits while their kids tear around the meadow from dawn until dusk. Not surprisingly, it gets a lot of return visitors.
It’s great for dogs and their owners – they have their own dog walking area, and not only are mutts welcome, Julian and Jane are happy to dogsit while owners head out for the day or evening. There are also plenty of nearby attractions if you don’t mind jumping in your car, including the village of Llandewi Brefi of Little Britain fame (although there’s not actually that much there). But for lots of campers the attraction is in simply letting time drift by as they sit outside their tent and do nothing in particular.
