Luxurious bell tent glamping in an idyllic meadow – Herefordshire Glamping is the very essence of rest & relaxation

Sun-drenched, yellow-dappled wildflower meadows; lush undulating fields of green; bejewelled dragon-flies performing feats of aerial mastery – the Herefordshire countryside is just so utterly, absurdly idyllic. No area typifies this more than the little pockets of pastoral perfection to the south-west of Leominster. Just south of the River Arrow, outside the larger village of Ivington, lies the dainty (or should that be 'perfectly proportioned') Aulden, home to the county's best kept secret, Herefordshire Glamping.

Nestled within this bucolic bolthole, Herefordshire Glamping is three acres of rolling meadows a stone's throw from the tranquil babbling of Honeylake Brook. Wild and buttercup-strewn in the spring, soft and well-kempt in the summer, this truly is a camping field for all seasons.

The twin five-metre bell tents are pristine, airy and spacious. Both come fully equipped with all you can need for both a night of sweet repose (kingsize beds, cosy duvets, feather pillows and a toasty wood-burner) and a leisurely rise (toaster, cafetière and "proper coffee").

The quality of of service at Herefordshire Glamping is conscientious to the last. Chirpy hosts Moira and David are on hand to help with everything from a directions to the Welsh Marches to the correct pronunciation of nearby Shrewsbury (only the non-natives call it "Shrowsbury"), to a lend of a corkscrew for that (second) chilled bottle of Chardonnay on your very own veranda.

The pace of life is lazy here and that's the way it should be. Surveying the rolling fields, with the scent of Ludlow sausages wafting from the grill, the heady vows to "leave it all behind" are almost palpable in this quintessentially English of scenes.

Our  cosy one bedroom cottage is available all year round for romantic, peaceful breaks. We buffed, painted and polished it ready for Spring 2021 - its completely self-contained with a king sized bed, Netflix, a kitchen with everything you need to make toast or a Sunday roast,  and a stylish shower room.

The grandly named 'Glamping Meadow' is home to our spacious and well equipped bell tent for summer nights under canvas. It's set on a raised deck with a proper king-sized bed, wood burner and a well equipped kitchen and shower. Perfect for a couple of days (or longer!) of just sitting and catching up.

Both the cottage and tent are peaceful, stylish and simple but comfortable.

Suitable For

We're perfect for understated romantic escapes - we've had a few engagments, lots of birthdays, anniversaries and 'just because' getaways.

We don't allow pets. Sorry! We have two cats who would leave home in a huff if we did.

We'll happily accommodate small groups and you're able to pitch a second tent in the meadow for a small fee. We aren't a party site though (although we'll happily recommend places if that's your thing). That doesn't mean we'll be policing what you do! It's very much 'your' space while you are here but this is our home too and we ask that you respect that.

So many places to visit! Herefordshire is a quiet treasure trove of things to do and places to eat. We are, of course, the home of good cider which means you can spend an entire day visiting orchards and cider companies!

Our place is about 13 miles from Hereford with the Cathedral, the Mappa Mundi, river and shopping. Leominster is about 4 miles away and great for mooching around the second hand and vintage shops for bargains. Then there is Ludlow - home to one of the best food festivals in the country, a castle, great independent shopping and some fab architecture.

Hay on Wye is approx. 40 mins drive with lots of book shops, the Literary Festival every Spring, Hay Bluff and a hop across to the Brecon Beacons.

Further afield is Ledbury, the Clee Hills, the Malverns....we could go on and have lots of ideas depending on what takes your fancy. You might just want to kick back in a chair with a good book for a couple of days and that's encouraged!

The Owner Says

We're a small corner of glorious Herefordshire with just one cosy bell tent and a self-contained one bedroom cottage. Herefordshire is off the beaten track but has an awful lot to offer alongside the countryside, peace, big skies and cider! We're set in around three acres of our own land and surrounded by farm land on all sides which means we're lucky enough to spot lots of wildlife including badgers, kites, foxes, occasionally deer and plenty of rabbits (who LOVE to drive us mad by feasting in the veg beds!).
We'd like to say you're pretty much guaranteed a relaxing escape from the everyday - a much needed chance to recharge your batteries before heading back out into the world.

Social Distancing Measures

We have just two bell tents in our Glamping meadow. We will ensure that there is ample antibacterial cleaner available to guests at all times. We are pretty fastidious about cleaning anyway but will step things up a notch..

We will only welcome one tent at a time unless you come as a group of friends or extended family and book both of our beautiful bell tents. That way you aren't worrying about social distancing and can just kick back and relax with the place to yourselves! Something we all need to do after the bonkers start to 2021.

We use a professional laundry service for our bed linens & towels

We hope you understand the reasoning behind this - our greatest wish will always that you have a relaxed, stress-free, peaceful break away from real life and, after many, many chats, we both feel this year we want to make things as simple as we can

Two canvas bell tents set on wooden decks- far enough apart to be private but close enough for groups of friends to get together.

David & Moira are your hosts and we actively encourage you to put away the phone - sit, chat, have a glass of wine and just catch your breath. There are just two tents set in three acres of beautiful, peaceful Herefordshire countryside where the only noise you'll probably hear are birds, or cows munching in the field next door.

We make up a proper king sized bed with white cotton bed linen and snuggly feather duvets along with towels, glasses, crockery, cutlery and lots of kitchen utensils. The kitchen has a fridge, toaster, microwave -all you need to bring are your toothbrush and a good book. The tents have wood burners and the bathroom has proper flushing loos and a hot shower. No compost toilets here!  There isn't electricity in the tents but there are sockets in the kitchen for phones & hair straightners - you are Glamping after all!
