A stylish '80s-themed caravan in 'Shakespeare Country'
As Weezer once sang: "Beverly Hills, that's where I want to be." Well, not quite, but this retro caravan emulates a small slice of its Californian namesake with a British glamping slant. Inspired by The Beverly Hills Hotel, the pastel decor of this 'caraglamping' caravan also knowingly takes a leaf out of filmmaker Wes Anderson's book with its aesthetic, and while it's not exactly looking to match The Grand Budapest Hotel, there is still certainly nothing else quite like it.

Located on the edge of Stratford-upon-Avon, the site looks to bring a little '9021-woah' to Warwickshire. Unsurprisingly, Beverley Thrills is run by an interior designer and art curator, Aly, who has used her experience to add a heap of style to the distinctly British caravan holiday. But while this might not look like any caravan you've seen before, the amenities are all there. There's a kitchenette, dining room, bedroom, and an eco-friendly shower room that utilises an external water butt for a sun-heated soak. A camping toilet is provided in the room for night time use and there is an additional plumbed toilet on site for the day time. The pitch,  located on a 'micro' orchard campsite, is lined with apple trees and offers neighbouring pitches for your friends to join you in their own campers or caravans.

With this being 'Shakespeare Country', your site is only a short drive away from the poet laureate's birthplace, situated along the River Avon. This picturesque stretch of water allows for boat hire and both public and private cruises, allowing you to admire the scenery alongside the swans. There's a variety of restaurants and bars to also enjoy here on top of soaking in the scenery, as is also the case in Leamington Spa — a short drive from the campsite. Then walk off all that grub with a ramble along The Monarch's Way, the huge long-distance footpath right next to the site. After all, you'll need to be in trim shape for those inevitable Instagram photoshoots in your one-of-kind '80s caravan.

Welcome to Shakespeare Country! The Beverley Thrills caravan is located on a ‘micro’ orchard campsite in the sleepy rural village of Snitterfield on the cusp Stratford-upon Avon.

On board we are fully equipped with a kitchenette complete with a two-ring induction hob, a large sink and a mini fridge. There is also a small double bed and wardrobe, a dining area which can be reassembled to make an additional single bed, and an eco shower room which is supplied by the external water butt that warms up under the sun. “To pee or not to pee?" - we have placed a camping toilet within the shower room for night time use although there is also a sparkling clean shared bathroom block with hot shower, flushing toilet, large washing-up trough, and even a washer/dryer also available to use on the campsite itself.

During your stay you have exclusive use of your own enormous private grass pitch which is outlined by rows of apple trees. Parking is free and you can pull up right behind the caravan.

The campsite is also located at the beginning of the historic ‘Monarch’s Way’ footpath which follows the escape route taken by King Charles II back in 1651 following his defeat in the Battle of Worcester. Comprising an hour’s gentle stroll over the rolling Welcombe Hills, via pristine golf courses and open fields, the trail ends in Stratford town centre.

Suitable For

Beverley Thrills is the perfect getaway for couples, pals or family members due to our adaptable sleeping arrangements. We recommended two guests at a time but we can accommodate a third person if two of you are happy sharing the small double bed. There will be a supplementary fee for a third person.

Got a celebration planned? We've got you covered! We can stock the fridge for you with fizz and snacks ahead of time for a pre-agreed additional fee.

We’re unable to accommodate tents on our pitch however, larger groups are welcome to bring other campers or caravans and hire a neighbouring pitch for just £20 per night. Let us know if you plan to do this and we can help you with the arrangements.

Due to the size of the space we’re unable to host parties or pets, and under 18s must be accompanied by an adult.

We're extremely lucky to have some fabulous attractions right on our doorstep.

Within the village of Snitterfield itself lies ‘The Farm’ - our neighbouring farm shop stocking essential provisions in its deli, wine merchant and bakery (a great choice for breakfast!) It’s also furnished with a children’s play area, farm animal pens, a homeware shop and the ‘Nourish’ cafe serving stone baked pizzas. Along the Monarch’s Way you can find The Welcombe Hills Vineyard serving up wine tastings and tours of locally produced English wine (prior booking is essential) Locally revered as a favourite watering hole, the Snitterfield Arms also offers up delicious pub fare and is just a 10 minute walk from the campsite.

Stratford itself boasts an abundance of attractions from the historic sites and theatres of William Shakespeare, to leisure activities such as boating, paddle boarding, wild swimming and fun fare riding. A great spot for drinking and dining, Stratford is also home to many excellent pubs, bars and restaurants.

The towns of Leamington Spa and Warwick - famous for its castle, are just a 15 minute drive and offer further food and shopping hot spots.

Food & Drink

As well as the fabulous places mentioned above we also love:

Bobby’s - a converted train carriage turned deli and cocktail bar on the former ‘Greenway’ railway line. The second carriage also offers bicycle hire

Avon Boating - for rowing boat hire, river cruise tours and a brilliant pop up riverside bar

‘The Old Bathing Place’ or ‘The Fisherman’s Car Park’ - a wild swimming spot on the bank of the River Avon located off the Warwick Road on the approach to Stratford

The world famous RSC Theatre - for Shakespearean performances

Lambs Restaurant - serving up some of the best British fine dining

The Butterfly Farm - a perfect place for younger children featuring thousands of butterflies, birds, amphibians and reptiles

The Owner Says

Welcome Caraglampers to Beverley Thrills!

Originally constructed in the Yorkshire town of Beverley, our beautiful caravan has undergone the ultimate lockdown transformation inspired by “The Pink Palace” that is The Beverly Hills Hotel

Transporting you back to Eighties LA, Beverley Thrills packs a mighty visual punch filled with design references from the whimsical films of Wes Anderson with its lashings of terrazzo, to vintage ice cream parlours in its abundance of aluminium table trim. Outside we welcome you to “wine and recline” under our awning taking in the stunning orchard views from the comfort of our Adirondack sun loungers. The most ‘instagrammable’ staycation spot in the UK? We think so!

But what is ‘caraglamping’ you say? Well, we invented the term to represent a notch above traditional glamping whilst inviting you to encounter the delights of caravanning as you stay. With a bedroom, dining room, kitchenette and shower room all under one roof you have everything you need before you’ve even stepped onto your own private grass pitch, and with a mini heater and hard roof, the Beverley Thrills experience can be enjoyed in any weather.

A bit about me - I’m Aly, an interior designer and art curator. I absolutely love meeting new people and playing host, and I've welcomed guests to my properties for many years now. So without further ado, welcome aboard Caraglampers!

Social Distancing Measures

Your stay is a self guided one and the caravan is located on its own private pitch offering plenty of open space all to yourself. We have also placed hand sanitiser in the caravan and there is also plenty of sanitising stations at the site entrance and around the campsite itself.
The caravan has its own camping toilet for night time use or there is a shared bathroom block which is immaculate and cleaned twice a day. It is hardly ever used by other campers as they also have their own facilities in their vans.

One stylishly decorated caravan, sleeping up to three guests.
