Erw Deg Glamping

Llandegfan, Anglesey, Wales
7 acres hosted by Bethan H.
Spacious glamping in Anglesey with stunning views over Snowdonia and nearby beaches.

If you live in a city, chances are that you have considered packing up your bags and getting away from it all at least once or twice (maybe per week). Erw Deg Glamping owners Dave and Bethan did just that, swapping out London's towering skyline for North Wales' Llandegfan, before swiftly setting up a campsite that would allow others to retreat to the countryside and do the same. Erw Deg Glamping is borne out of the couple's desire to reimmerse themselves in nature, and with the lush greenery of its 10-acre site overlooking the breathtaking Snowdonia mountain range, they've achieved just that.

Erw Deg Glamping features four five-metre bell tents situated in a wildflower pasture, with 10 acres of meadows and woodland surrounding the site. Dave and Bethan's goal was to create a site that would allow guests the opportunity to experience their natural surroundings while leaving its wildlife undisturbed, meaning that peace and quiet are encouraged with the site best-suited to families and couples as a result.

The bell tents each provide a double bed, with additional deluxe camping mats and beds provided for up to two children, and travels cots and baby seats also available upon request. A hot shower and cooking facilities are found in a covered area, while a compost loo helps keep things eco-friendly. Food can be cooked on the barbecue and fire pit which are just outside each tent, with seating and all the cooking utensils you should need included too. While you can enjoy the views from the comfort of your tent, the site's acres are yours to freely explore, so feel free to take a paddle in the nearby stream or a walk through its vast meadows.

But it's not just the site's scenic acres and sprawling Snowdonia that are within your grasp. Erw Deg is also favourably situated next to Beaumaris, the Anglesey seaside town known for its eclectic combination of medieval, Georgian, Victorian, and Edwardian architecture. Alongside its castle of the same name, famed for its near-perfect symmetry as one of the most well-constructed medieval fortresses in the UK, Beaumaris' beach is also a delight, backed by colourful pastel-painted homes. The Blue Flag-designated Llanddona beach is also a short drive away, as is the tidal Llanddwyn Island and its enviable view of the Llŷn Peninsula. All of this gorgeous scenery makes Erw Deg Glamping an energising break away from grey buildings and overcrowded streets for those in need of recharging their batteries.

From the host
Relax and enjoy camping surrounded by beautiful fields and wildlife overlooking the stunning Snowdonia mountain range. Four spacious 5-metre bell tents are spread out in a tranquil wildflower pasture with breathtaking views. Explore ten acres of meadows and woodland; build a den, paddle in the stream or watch the sunset. Our site is secluded but well situated for reaching the amazing beaches and varied attractions of Anglesey. We welcome families and couples looking for an authentic camping experience immersed in nature. We are Dave, Bethan and our two small children. Both originally from Anglesey, we moved back to Llandegfan from London a year ago in pursuit of wider skies, cleaner air and closeness to family. We are working hard to allow wildlife to flourish here at Erw Deg. We have seen red squirrels, foxes, woodpeckers, hares, buzzards, red kites, goldfinches, songbirds and lots of rabbits. We want to share this gorgeous place with you in a low-impact, high-enjoyment way.
Nearby attractions

The seaside town of Beaumaris is a five-minute drive from the site, and offers a peaceful beach to relax on and Beaumaris Castle (0300 025 2239) to explore. Referred to as "the greatest castle never built," this immense fortress was left unfinished and unused by Edward I, though remains one of the most well-constructed pieces of architecture from this time period. Llandona beach is a 10-minute drive away, with its forest backdrop and clear waters ideal for swimmers and windsurfers, while the magical Llanddwyn Island is 20 minutes away and offers further views of Snowdonia and the Llyn Peninsula. The impressive Menai Bridge, and the town of the same name, are just a five-minute drive away and, although you may have already driven over it, it's a sight worth paying a little more attention to. For relaxation, host Bethan is a yoga instructor and can offer outdoor sessions available upon request.
